About Us
Welcome to Cochran Advanced Skills Academy, home of Phantom Sports. Our academy was founded by a husband and wife team of former Division I collegiate and professional athletes, driven by a passion for athletics and a commitment to excellence in sports development and talent identification.

Cary, one of our founders, is a hall-of-fame basketball player, ranking top in the entire state of Iowa for career points, assists, and three-pointers. He went on to be a starter at the University of Nebraska and continued his basketball journey playing professionally. Cary then transitioned from basketball player to basketball coach, beginning his 5 years of coaching Division I basketball. In addition to his high-level coaching experience, Cary has also coached youth basketball for over 12 years and will continue to coach our 7th Grade 2025 Regional Champion Phantom Basketball Team.

At Phantom Sports, we currently have multiple age groups in basketball and are starting with one age group in soccer, offering a unique approach to select sports. Our motto, “putting the ‘select’ back in select sports,” underscores our dedication to maintaining the exclusivity and competitive nature of elite athletics. We prioritize talent identification to ensure that the athletes chosen truly stand out based on their skills and dedication.​
Our rigorous selection process highlights the importance of training and commitment. Being selected for Phantom Sports is an achievement earned through talent and hard work, not simply purchased. We believe that true excellence in sports comes from dedication, perseverance, and high-quality coaching.

We aim to make our region stand out by offering a more affordable alternative. We are committed to delivering top-tier coaching that focuses on skill enhancement and dedication, ensuring our athletes achieve their full potential.

Vision
Cochran Advanced Skills Academy began with a single basketball team, which quickly proved its excellence by winning the regional championship. This success has fueled our vision to establish the top team in every age group, solidifying Phantom Sports’ reputation as the best of the best.

As we expand, we are excited to launch our first soccer team in the Fall of 2025. We have high hopes for its success and are committed to building a strong roster through our rigorous tryout process.
